Christianity is Messy
By Amber Haugen 08/12/10
Christianity is not a 12-step-program. God is calling us to a reckless abandoning love that dictates our relationships. But this love does not come without cost. Jesus himself was willing to disturb people's daily lives and routines if it meant it would draw them into a deeper love relationship with him. God is calling us to love people in truth but this is contrary to the way our society lives. In our culture we attempt to avoid discomfort at all costs and yet we wonder why relationships fail.

Love your thoughts, Amber.

Love your thoughts, Amber. Been challenged by this SO much this year... loving people and sticking with them for the long haul... not just jumping in and making them "feel better in the moment" - but encouraging them towards growth and change while loving them in their mess. And on the flip side, not giving in to the human tendency to accentuate my disapproval of their choices by being unloving towards them. Much graced needed!!!
What awesome thoughts! You
