Christmas and Isaiah's New Exodus

Let's take a few minutes and explore what may have been brought to the minds of the first century hearers as they listen to the story of the birth of Jesus for the first time. Is this Jesus the king we have waited for? Will he be the leader of the new exodus? A larger exodus than out of Egypt? A bigger exodus than out of Babylon? We shall see.

This is incredibly good! In a time when such a powerful story gets lost on so many things this is a stirring reminder of such a powerful proclaimation of the true meaning of the gospel. Thank you Maria.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
