This really challenged me today. To find a way to delight in your job and your customers on those "not so excited about work" days is a choice. I will purpose in my heart today to chose to be flexible and soft with my coworkers and students today. Thank you for the words of wisdom and the scripture to back it up. What a great way to start the day!
I loved hearing about the meaning of the word, "delight." It not only has applications in the business world, but in all of our relationships.... family, friends and business.
As was said, with the stressful times in which we are living, a "soft" answer - or approach may not be one's first choice. "To be soft and pliable" will serve all of us well.
Amazing discussion! Your words about being "soft" in business were very powerful to me and something I really needed to hear. As a young woman in the businessworld, being "soft" and "pliable" were never among the characteristics my college professors told me to cultivate! Thank you for this message and the reminder that God is in control; everything we have belongs to him and, if we are willing, he can do more in our lives than we ever thought possible.
Thank you for talking about this! What an inspiring topic, learning to delight in both the Lord and those we work with daily. I got goose bumps when you talked about 'delight' actually meaning 'pliable'. So often we forget that our flexibility is often a way of bridging the gap between ourselves and others. Its saying, essentially, 'I will always assume the best because you are worth being flexible for'. If we could remember this with clients... oh how that would transform attitudes! What a way to build trust!
Thank you : )
