Your Calling

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
Ephesians 4:1
My Dear Child,
Did you know that you have a calling on your life? It is more than a vocation, and it is very individual, but yet it is universal. You may be wondering how you can know what this calling is. It is to share Jesus with the world. That is the universal part.
But my children are so one-of-a-kind and individual, and have many diverse gifts that I have given them, so the way they go about sharing Jesus is unique for each believer.
Do you have a burden and desire to evangelize, and you look for opportunities to meet with lost people and minister to them? I am the one who puts these people into your life, people who are not even aware that I am working in their hearts to bring them to Myself. And I have chosen you to present Jesus and His love and salvation to a lost world.
Do you have a passion for praying for people, and seem to feel their burdens as if they were your own? Then this is your calling, to lift others and their needs in prayer. The more you do it, the more people will be drawn to you to share their prayer requests.
Do you have the gift of encouragement? Think of the people I have brought into your life who are going through extreme trials. You have the calling to share Jesus' love with them by doing acts of kindness and sharing words of promise and hope and healing from The Word.
The opportunities that come into your life are ordained by me. It is not happenstance that you have so many occasions to use your gifts and heed your calling. You see, I planned all these things before you were even born.
You may be an up-front person or a behind-the-scenes person. Neither one is more important than the other. Study the life of Jesus, and see that He could be both. He would go miles out of his way to meet with just one person, but yet would teach and speak with thousands of people sitting at his feet. The important thing is that you are being Jesus to others in whatever unique way you are called.
So go in the power and gifts you have been given, and be Jesus to a hurting world.
Your Loving Father,
God
