Becca by the Book

Becca by the Book is basically a Christian chick flick in written form.  As it turns out, this book is the third in a series of Getaway Girls novels.  Had I known, I might have read Book #1 and #2 first, but hey, it was a gift.  It does, however, make for some fun, easy reading and even brings out some thought provoking questions.  Becca is the only non-Christian in a book club that meets monthly and plans little trips based on the books they’ve read.  (Personally, I think that sounds like a GREAT book club to join.)  It seems that Becca’s group decides she is a bit commitment phobic and makes a deal with her to get her to go on 25 dates with the next guy who asks her out; he happens to be a Christian.  Some interesting twists and turns ensue as Becca is thrown into a world where everyone, it seems, is sometimes speaking a different language - Christianese.  While it’s not a book that will revolutionize your world, it does provide some interesting insight as to how non-Christians view what seems to them like another world.
