Blood Covenant

Blood Covenant was a most unlikely book for me to read. I mean really, it’s about a mob boss turned Christian and I didn’t even watch all of the Godfather movies! I actually met the author, Michael Franzese, when I went to hear him speak at a local church, which made me want to read his book. Apparently, leaving the mob lifestyle alive is unheard of, but Michael Franzese did it. This autobiographical book tells the story of Michael’s life in the mob and how he eventually got out and turned his life over to Christ. Michael had countless hours in prison to “cement” his relationship with Christ through scripture reading and studying extensively. He concludes his book with a series of logical reasons why Christ’s claims are all true. Personally (being more the emotional type) I found this section of the book a little long, BUT for a person who is questioning if this life in Christ is to be trusted, it’s perfect. All in all, a good read.
