I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving, be made for everyone -- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

1 Timothy 2:1-2

My Dear Child,
When you make your prayer request list, who is generally the focus of your prayers?  Is it those few closest to you, your friends and family?  Or are you yourself the object of most of your prayers?
Today, I am asking you to look outside that small circle of influence you generally focus upon and commit to pray for all those in authority over you.  Choose those who are brothers and sisters in the faith, even unbelievers.  The weighty responsibility carried by the president, legislators and judges, governors and mayors, is well worth the effort you will make in praying for them.  Pray for them to have wisdom, knowledge, understanding and compassion for those they serve.
I encourage you to pray for all world leaders.  Be aware of what occurs in foreign countries greatly affects your missionaries and the work that they are doing.  Ask the Holy Spirit to direct you to an area unfamiliar to you, I look forward to hearing from you.

Your Loving Father,
God
