My Good Spirit
Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the desert.
By day the pillar of cloud did not cease to guide them on their path,
nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take.
You gave your good Spirit to instruct them.
You did not withhold your manna from their mouths,
and you gave them water for their thirst.
For forty years you sustained them in the desert; they lacked nothing,
their clothes did not wear out nor did their feet become swollen.
Nehemiah 9:19-21
My Dear Child,
When you feel lost and don't know which way to turn or what step to take next, remember the Israelites. They had no way of knowing on their own what to do or where to go next to get to the Promised Land. It was only by my constant guidance and care that they were able to make it. During the forty years I gave my light and my daily provisions for their needs, but best of all I gave my good Spirit to instruct them.
If you are a Jesus follower, you have the Holy Spirit within you, constantly leading and instructing you in the way of righteousness. This is a constant you can count on in a world that is ever changing. Just as with the Israelites, even though they complained and broke out into sin at times, I never withheld the manna which I had promised to them, and I do the same for you. You cannot earn my love, and you don't have to "measure up" to receive the benefits of my promises.
Walk in confidence of my love and protection today, and listen for the Spirit's voice to instruct and guide you in all things.
