Praying to be Steadfast

Oh that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees!  Then I would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands.  I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.  I will obey your decrees; do not utterly forsake me.

Psalm 119:5-8

My Dear Child,
If you ever find yourself at a loss as to what to pray for concerning your own spiritual walk, consider praying for steadfastness.  Your dictionary defines that word “steadfast” means firmly fixed in place, not subject to change, and firm in belief.  I know that that what you desire in your heart is to be that type of Christian.
When you are constantly up and down in the area of obedience to My Word, it does two negative things:  It presents a poor witness to others, and it puts a wall between us in the area of fellowship, for you feel like hiding from me, just like Adam and Eve did after they sinned.
What a blessing it is for you when you read Scriptures and you are not feeling regrets when you compare your life to the standard of My Word.  Then you can spend more time praising Me and thanking Me for helping you to be obedient.
So maybe "steadfastness" should move to the top of your prayer list today.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Your Loving Father,
God
