Still and Quiet

But I have stilled and quieted my soul;
like a weaned child with its mother,
like a weaned child is my soul within me.
Psalm 131:2
My Dear Child,
Is there a situation in your life right now that is somewhat troubling, and you do not know how it will turn out? You would like to know the outcome, but this is a season in your life when it is time to wait, wait for me to work things out.
The psalmist said that he had stilled and quieted his soul. And then he said his soul was like a weaned child with its mother. What a great picture of patiently waiting for something.
An infant, when it is hungry, frets and cries and searches for something to suck on to satisfy the need for food. Since hunger is painful, there is an urgency in getting that need met. A weaned child, however, even though he is hungry, sees the mother preparing food, and is content to wait until the meal is ready.
This is how you learn contentment and patience and steadfastness in your faith walk. Wait patiently. I am working on your behalf. You'll see.
Your Provider,
God
