The Word is Your Rudder

For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth.

Genesis 7:17

 My Dear Child,

I know you have heard the story of Noah and the ark and have even seen the watercolor pictures, many, many times since childhood.  But today I want you to visualize the ark realistically.  As the rains from above and the floods from below raised the water level higher and higher, until there was not one mountain peak left visible on the earth, the ark of safety was also rising higher and higher.  The very affliction that I had sent upon the earth was what raised Noah and his family above the danger.
Remember also that Noah had no destination, the ark had no rudder or steering mechanism, and there was no port of safety on the horizon to head for.  He and his family were totally reliant on me and my provisions of safety and security.
Do you ever feel that your life is adrift on a sea of problems to which there seems to be no earthly solution?  You can't run away from them for they surround you.  This is the time to let your spirit be lifted higher and higher toward me.  I have all the wisdom, resources, and answers you need, but first I want to get you to be totally reliant on me.
Begin by reading my Word -- and not just speed-reading through it, but carefully studying it and applying it to your life.  When you make a practice of it, your spirit will rise above life's problems.

Your Loving Father,
God
