Worship, then Work

Do not be misled:  "Bad company corrupts good character."
1 Corinthians 15:33

My Dear Child,
No doubt you have noticed that when you leave a worship service, your heart is singing and your spirit is soaring with praise.  You have confessed sin, given your offering,  had your faith built up by the preaching of the Word, and have had fellowship with other believers with whom you are of like mind.
Then comes Monday.  You may work with unbelievers who haven't been where you were on Sunday, and they are not spiritually minded.  They begin their litany of complaints, tell their off-color stories, and in general begin to pull you down from that spiritual high you were on just hours before.  If you don't take action, you will soon begin to look and sound just like them.  The pull is that strong.
But don't be dismayed.  There is a way to survive and even be victorious.  If you spend time with me each day before you even arrive at your workplace, you will already be at an advantage.  You can have your own mini worship service, with just you and Me.  Sing praises to me, thank me while you ask me for your daily provisions, and ask me for strength to guard your lips and your mind and your heart through the coming hours.
My son, Jesus, you will notice from the Scriptures, always arose early and spent time with Me before He began His day.  Not only was He daily encountering unbelievers, but many of them were intently trying to trick Him and even find ways to kill Him.  He had nothing to confess, since He was sinless, but He still spent time with Me before His daily encounters.
If you search the Scriptures for wisdom and comfort each day, you will find you are stronger and stronger and are able to keep the necessary company with the crowd at work and still be a witness for me.  Don't forget that My Spirit is in you, always helping you, keeping guard over your lips, and giving you the wisdom you need at a moment's notice.
So go forth today and be courageous.  After all, you are my emissary to a lost and dying world.

Your Loving Father,
God
