I stand beneath an ancient, painted arch in China. Faded, graceful lines are the only reminders of a painted scene from a simpler day. Wind, rain, heat, admirers--with each touch a bit of beauty has departed. Worn and weathered, the painting barely echoes its former brilliance.

How are we creating a portrait of God to those who do not believe?

To the watching world, our lives paint a portrait of God. Our responses to times of darkness and light are like paintbrushes sweeping across the canvas of life, leaving impressions of the God we call Savior.

How many points do we have to earn in order to draw close to God?

Accumulating approximately 14,392,545 miles on my frequent flyer card will grant me access to the airport's "Gee, you're really special" clubs with chairs that are unrelated to stadium bleachers, chilled juice in elegant carafes, and restful restrooms.
