Faith in someone's words is powerful.

Did you believe in Santa Claus? I did. Oh, I did with all my heart! He always ate the cookies I left out for him. He always left me a little note to thank me for the cookies and tell me what a good girl I had been that year. One Christmas Eve, my mom even spotted his sleigh in the sky!

Why won't my son just eat his breakfast?

My children are very different when it comes to their morning breakfast rituals.  My daughter is rearing to go, pushing her high chair out from the wall, wanting food before I can even get her diaper changed.  My son, however, meanders from his room, preferring to watch t.v.

Feeling like you have too much to handle? Let Jesus carry your load.

My toddlers have a knack for wanting to pick up large heavy objects.  Why they have an obsession with trying to pick up gallon jugs of water is beyond me...

We all face temptation, but how often do we see it for what it is?

We all struggle. We each struggle with different issues depending on our personality, present circumstances and things we have dabbled with in the past, but we are all tempted to sin.

Just like riding a bike? Getting back on a bike after ten years was kind of... hard!

I hopped on a bike the other day for the first time in almost 10 years.  My husband had suggested that we get a second bike and a bike trailer for the kids.  It sounded like so much fun to enjoy the outdoors together as a family!  With no apprehension whatsoever, I agreed.  When it was time to actually hit the road, however, a great deal of uneasiness set it.

I’m always amazed by the degree to which a baby is formed before there is any visible evidence of a woman’s pregnancy.  Before a woman starts to show, a baby has fingers that open and close, toes that curl, and even kidneys that are already starting to function.  Each time I was pregnant, I was astounded that all of this was happening with little physical proof.  Had I not experi

Daily monotonies have a way of wearing us down... we could all use more encouragement in our lives!

The longer I am a wife and mother, the more I realize just what a thankless job this is.  The demands of a husband and small children have a way of wearing me down.  It’s not that I never hear thank you or receive a compliment, but the bulk of what I do goes unnoticed and unappreciated.  Please don’t misunderstand me - I am not a narcissistic diva.  I don’t need praise at ev

Nothing stops a mother's love... NOTHING stops Gods...

Last week, I wrote about my astonishment when I asked my son for a good morning hug and he said, “Tomorrow.”  I was equally astonished at his response to that question today.

Just as a mama longs to cuddle with her little ones, God longs to be close to you...

I was working in the kitchen this morning when I heard the creak of my 3 year-old’s bedroom door.  His sluggish methodical footsteps followed, getting louder as he made his way down the hall.  I greeted him with open arms and a big smile, as I do when I awake before him.  When he wakes before me, my greeting is much less enthusiastic.  However, if I am fu
