Have you ever experienced something that felt too difficult to forgive? Or that it may take your whole life to work through?

With Valentines Day coming up, I began thinking about love. I used to have a "heart-shaped box" mentality about love, but now I'm thinking outside the box...

As a new year approaches, do you ever take time to reflect on the previous year? Did it turn out like you'd hoped? Are you still waiting on unfufilled dreams or expectations?

I make it a habit at the end of every year to evaluate my year.  I evaluate the ups and downs, the progress and the set-backs and especially, where I am in my spiritual journey relative to the beginning of the year.  What did I learn? Did I grow in any areas?  Where did I fall short?  What has God done throughout the year? Am I closer to the Lord than I was?

Just yesterday, I found myself humming the Christmas song "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year". I paused for a moment and thought about the words...the most wonderful time...the hap-happiest season of all... is it?

Have you ever had anyone give you something that they knew you would love (and you weren't expecting) and they went the extra mile with it? It wasn't just the ordinary version, it was the "special edition"?

If you've ever had someone give you something out of the blue that you've been longing for, and they get you the best, the prettiest, the most unique version...they went the extra mile... you know the feeling you get inside.   Its an incredible sense of kindness and love being sent your way.

For me, that someone was God.

Recently I saw an interview with a woman who had experienced a brutal rape. One of the most stunning aspects of this rape is what initiated the rape...

Recently I saw an interview with a young woman who had experienced a brutal rape.  As a counselor trained in sexual abuse and rape, I've heard countless heart-wrenching stories. Yet this account shook me up as much as any I've heard over the years.

As I'm sure most of you have heard, a pastor in Gainesville, Florida is planning to burn the Koran in remembrance of the events of September 11th.

As I'm sure most of you have heard, a pastor in Gainesville, Fla. is planning to burn the Koran in rememberance of the events of September 11th.  As a Christian, I was mortified and deeply disappointed at his actions.   I could see no positive purpose whatsoever to this pastor's actions nor find any Biblical principles to back them.
