Jobless? Hopeless? Don't be. There are discoveries to make and lessons to learn in this time of searching.

I have a confession. I say it slowly and slyly, and with great pains:

I am unemployed.

It's not because I'm lazy. It's not because I'm not qualified. It's probably not even because of the economy.

What if home isn't a very clear concept? What did Christ have to say about home?

Home. It's a place we long for, a concept we wax nostalgic about, a term that evokes memories.

But what if your concept of home is very different? What if your memories of home are painful, haunting, or discouraging? What if your definition of home isn't rooted in one central location?

What if "home" means something very different to you than to the next woman?

How many Facebook friends or Twitter followers do you have? And how many of them are your actual friends?

I'm a sucker for social media. I like knowing what's up with my friends on an hour-by-hour basis. I like keeping tabs on those I don't have the luxury of seeing often. The best usage of Facebook I've ever seen was a prayer chain initiated through a simple status update of someone in need. The outpouring of solidarity and support was immediate.

Why befriending women different from you is necessary to Body of Christ. Friendship isn't all about similarities.

A couple of months ago, just before leaving Nigeria, I had dinner with friends from church. It was a diverse group: a pastor and his wife, a doctor, a graphic designer, and 4 teachers. Some were from England, Canada, Zimbabwe, Malaysia, and America. There were some older, some younger, some married, some single, some divorced, some widowed.
