The old saying, "Sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me" is SUCH a lie! I got sideswiped, and I really don't like this at all!

Have you ever felt like someone punched you in the gut with their words? What about a slap across the face through inference? It is so hard to keep the right attitude and do what is right in response to unfair treatment. I’ve walked this road before; I’ve been treated unkindly many times in my life. But this one threw me for a loop. I felt devastated, and filleted.

Mother's Day isn't a fun day for many people. There are lots of reasons why they feel pain instead of joy on that expectly happy day. But God sees, and He understands. He meets us where we are.

God Sees
 
God sess you in your happiness when everything is fine,

And He sees you in your brokenness, every single time.

He comprehends our human hearts even better than we know,

And He allows some troubled times to come so that we too can grow.

He waits with the lonely and single ones who desire a family dream,

God said it, and I believe it. Now what am I going to do about it?

I spent some time re-reading old journals this morning: quiet moments to contemplate and appreciate. What a trip it was to visit past experiences and prayers and to watch God’s hand of faithfulness in action in my life. Over and over I saw my insecurities and issues splayed out in print, and then saw as God sewed together the rough edges.

Have you ever contemplated your purpose in life? Join the club.

I don’t want to dream big dreams for my life and then ask God to bless them. I want to discover His dream and then follow Him well so I can walk it out. If you’ve been walking in relationship with God for very long, you’ve probably wondered about His will and purpose for your life. What is it? Am I following it? How will I know?
