Single, but I’m not alone and I am loved

I’m going to take a risk and talk about a subject among singles that I would venture to say that most of us don’t really care to admit, much less talk about.  It’s the current reality that we are still single.  There, I said it.  I dared to say it.  I’m single, but I’m not alone and I am loved.

Okay.  I can hear some of you saying, “What is she talking about, single but not alone and loved?”  Well, let me first be even more transparent and say that I do have my moments when I’m in my apartment, starring at the four walls of my living room, with tears in my eyes, with this question on my heart, “When?”   I’m happy to say that those moments are few and far between.  And I am also happy to say that as soon as I ask the question, “When?” that my heart is once again filled with the knowledge that I’m not alone and I am loved.

There is One whose love is far greater than any I could imagine.  The knowledge that I don’t have to do anything to deserve this love, I just have to accept it, is growing deeper and deeper in my heart every day.  I know how much He loves me because He will put it on someone’s heart to call me and say, “I was just thinking about you and thought I’d give you a call.”

I’ve been learning about how much He loves other people too.  Out of the blue, someone will come to mind that I feel a strong urge to call, text or to send an email with a word of encouragement or affirmation.  Whenever I start to feel that urge to “think” I’m alone, I remember that He is just a Word away.  By now you might be wondering who “He” is.  Well, His Name is Jesus.  And His love can be found in your heart once you completely surrender it to be His; and it can be found in His Word (I Corinthians 13:4-8, Romans 8:35, John 3:16).

Remember, you may be single but you are not alone and you are loved!
