Individual Strengths

Ask yourself the following questions:

  1. What compels you, in so much that others can not talk you out of doing?
  2. What might others say about you?
  3. In what ways do you respond naturally to your environment?
  4. What gives you energy?

Personal Vision:

  • Describe your short and long term aspirations…..
  • Reflect upon experiences in your youth that cultivated the dreams you have for  yourself today.
  • Reflect on a time you felt in concert with your purpose.
  • Articulate a vision statement.

Assumptions/Beliefs:

The activity of our soul is directed by our moral compass.  Held beliefs consist of reinforced experiences that shape assumptions and allow us to interpret the world around us.

  • What do you believe?  Why do you believe it?
  • What early experiences shaped your beliefs?
  • What has shaped your beliefs?

Core Values:

Values are developed out of the held beliefs that orientate our lives.  Values inform our choices and decisions.  Often times, discontentment internally erupts when our values are not aligned with our life and work.

  • How do your values influence your decisions?  In what ways?
  • What behaviors are not congruent with your values?
  • Reflect and compile a list of your core values.
  • Create new opportunities for living out your values.

Guiding Principles:

The journey of life can be depicted in this way; a strong but agile rudder determines the direction of any sailing vessel.  Guiding principles define the direction and movement of one’s life.

  • What has been constant in your life?
  • What guiding principles are you striving to match in your professional life?
  • Reflect upon a time in your life when you felt compromised with regard to your guiding principles.
