1 Chronicles 15:22
Kenaniah the head Levite was in charge of the singing; that was his responsibility because he was skillful at it.

Figuring out our purpose in life can be difficult. Choosing a career path can be daunting. Even the idea of how to serve God can be overwhelming.

We try to make it complicated. We seek supernatural affirmation before moving forward. We postpone using our abilities, complaining of not enough time, talent, money, status, education, etc. We agree to tasks outside of our interests and abilities, leaving no time for what we were designed to do.

Each of us has talents, abilities, and interests. Those abilities can guide us in choosing careers, planning daily activities as well as serving God. Often, God places desires in our heart because He desires us to use them.

Do you know how you are gifted?

If you don’t know your gifts or abilities or how to use them, ask yourself what steps you need to take to figure that out. It might include talking to a close friend, working with a pastor or life coach, or taking a gifts/personality assessment. What steps do you need to take? When will you take the first step?

Are you using your gifts and abilities?

If you aren’t using your abilities, ask yourself why not. What needs to change? What will you change first?
