“Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.”  Psalm 143:8 (NLT)

Let’s be honest with ourselves: It can be very difficult to maintain a level of trust in someone else. Sometimes, it is even difficult to fully trust God. With the ever-changing life that we lead, in this drearily awkward world, it can be difficult to feel comfortable trusting anyone or anything.

All too often, we are let down when we trust someone else. We may feel like we open ourselves up for hurt and disappointment by trusting others. Sometimes, it can even feel like God is letting us down by not answering our prayers in the way that we ask.

Until recently, I had not yet truly figured out for myself—that God has a different and specific plan for every detail of each of our lives. Everything—from the job that we work at in any given time, to the people that we spend time with, to the opportunities that are put before us, and every moment in between—is strategically placed by God.

The verse above says, “…show me where to walk…” What would happen if we listened–truly listened—for God’s direction about where we should travel next, and which direction we are to follow when at a life “crossroads”?

When following the path set out for us by God, there are no mistaken turns. Every bump or detour is specifically designed and intended by God for a purpose.

If we set out on our own path, our own way, the journey will be much more difficult.

Think about it: Do you want to fight against the will of God for you by hearing his voice but choosing to ignore it?

Earlier on in life, I, too, thought that I was in charge of my destiny, able to choose which turns to take and which to pass by. But, as I look back on the last few years, I cannot help but notice all of the wonderfully amazing things that came from God doing differently than what I asked for in prayer!

Dear woman, take it from me–don’t fight against the will of God. Save your energy and instead go with his flow. Trust in the many different paths that God leads you toward and boldly go down the roads placed in front of you.

God has had your life mapped out since before you were conceived. Imagine how much easier it would be if we just followed his divine plan.

Carving out your own path is exhausting and, frankly, is wasted time. God will ensure that you end up right where you are supposed to be anyway.

How amazing are his works!

Today, may you have the wisdom to trust God’s plan fully, and feel comfort in his divine direction for each moment of your life!

Take the path of least resistance, the path laid out before you by God.
