Maybe you’re thinking it’s time to think fresh thoughts and do some spiritual housecleaning. Read and reflect on the prayer below—notice that it uses several words beginning with the letters “R” and “E.” God bless you as you yield your heart and life to Him!
*********
Dear Lord,
Revitalize, rejuvenate and refresh me. Restore in me the joy of Your salvation, and continue to reveal Yourself in deep and profound ways. Fill and re-fill me. Use and re-use me for the sake of Your Kingdom of Light.
Lead me again and again into repentance, and re-create in me a clean heart. Restrain me whenever I’m tempted to do or say something I shouldn’t. Re-train me, and renew a right spirit within me.
Relax me so I can hear and respond to Your still, small voice. Teach me to listen, pray, seek, obey and love relentlessly as You lead and guide. Rekindle my devotion to Jesus Christ, and give me new incentive for responding to His grace.
Re-inspire me. Refurbish me. Remind me to re-invest the time and gifts You’ve entrusted to my care. Recycle everything You’ve redeemed in me, and make me a reflection of God’s remarkable grace.
Relying totally on You, Holy Spirit, I resolve to bring glory to my Father in heaven. And I pray in Jesus’ name for the restoration of His Kingdom here on earth. Amen.
(P.S. How many R.E. words can you count?)
Great article, Sharon! I REally like it. 🙂 I especially like the idea of God recycling everything He’s redeemed in me, and making me a reflection of God’s remarkable grace.
Very clever response. It REally made me laugh. And your comment about how God REdeems everything we do and go through when we are yielded to Him is right on. Thanks for REading and commenting. 🙂 Sharon Knudson
