Do not love the world or anything in the world.

If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For everything in the world — the cravings of sinful man,

the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does –

come not from the Father but from the world.

The world and its desires pass away,

but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

1 John 2:15-17

My Dear Child,
Today when you examine your heart, give some thought to what you really love.  If you love the things you crave and the things you see that you believe you want, and if you love hearing people praise you for what you own or what you have accomplished, beware, for there is a problem which has taken root in your spirit.  Those things are temporary and will only end in decay and death.
If you think about it, your desires and wants are constantly changing.  About the time you acquire the thing you spend so much time thinking about, you begin wanting something else.  This is the way of the world.
And whatever anyone praises you for today will be forgotten by tomorrow, and you will find yourself hungering for more praise and compliments.  That one thing is a craving which is never satisfied.
This is exactly why trying to find satisfaction in the world is futile and proves to be a never-ending cycle.  But when you find satisfaction in me, and you discover my unconditional love for you even when you aren’t at your best, you will find such peace and contentment.  And, my child, when people see the contentment you have, while they themselves are always wanting more, they will not understand it.   This will be your light that shines on a hill, leading others to me.
     Have a wonderful day.

Your Loving Father,
God
