  • Increasing in spiritual strength
  • Involves developing confidence in the power of the Holy Spirit

In Ephesians 1:15-19 Paul is praying that we would come to know God’s incomparably great power for us.  Do we really know and understand that God has great power for us?

What exactly is that power like?  If you continue reading Ephesians 1:19-20 you find that “This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in heaven at God’s right hand.”  That is demonstrative, eruptive, and tangible power!

Rick Renner, one of my favorite Greek theologians, writes in his devotional, Sparkling Gems from the Greek:

This power is so overwhelming that the Roman soldiers who guarded Jesus’ tomb on that resurrection morning fainted and crumbled to the ground …  Flooding the grave where Jesus’ dead body lay, this conquering power permeated every dead cell and fiber of His body with divine life until it was impossible for death to hold Him any longer.

I cannot even fathom that kind of power coming into the tomb and Jesus’ body, but as I read that description, my spirit leaps with assurance that I serve a mighty and powerful God.

And now Paul uses this very word to describe the power that is available for me.

 Grab these two truths:

  1. This power is available to every believer – that means YOU.
  2. With this empowering Presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives we can expect the very same power that raised Christ from the dead to operate in us.

Girlfriends – I pray that you will not be satisfied until you begin to see a demonstration of that power in your life.  Right now pray and ask God to teach you how to tap into that power so it can be released in your life.
