Trust is the currency of every relationship, including our relationship with Father God.

I think about the day two years ago when the doctor told me I had an aggressive form of breast cancer. I listened silently to the words being spoken as numbness entered my body. I was driving away in my car before the first tear fell.

In less than a minute, my organizational brain set into motion what I needed to do and in what order. I was gaining control. My thoughts moved quickly from one plan to another. No calm, no peace.

I had to travel about an hour before reaching my destination. Alone in my car, I started singing praises to God. My muscles relaxed, and I felt his presence. The overwhelming impression of hearing “I am going on an amazing journey with you” came to me. Peace and strength were mine.

Surgery came, and the doctors were amazed. No cancer could be found!

A relationship’s currency of trust should never be used carelessly, but intentionally.

In what ways can you choose to trust God in your situation or circumstance today?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
