I love the heavens! I’m always amazed with the way God paints the skies. So when I got in my car for work a few weeks ago, I was excited to get a glimpse of the super moon! But as far as I could see, clouds covered the sky with very few openings. Lord, part the clouds, I half-breathed. I mean if God could part the seas for Moses, couldn’t he do this little thing for me?

Such a silly request in a world that desperately needs Jesus. I continued on my 10-minute drive. As I pulled into the parking lot, I felt an urgency to get out of my car to take one last look for the moon. Could he? Would he?

There, in a parting of the clouds, glowed a big yellow ball. For a moment, the skies stood still. I dug through my purse hoping to get a picture of this moment. The moon waited. God in all his glory, in all his wondrous ways, answered a half-breathed prayer of little faith, to show me the moon. This particular super moon hasn’t been experienced since 1948.

The moon was beautiful, but more beautiful still is the fact that God loves me and cares about every detail that I bring to him. And on this morning I imagined him upon his mighty throne, reaching across the heavens to part the sky for me!

God is good. All the time. He cares about those things that you care about. Though they may be small, even insignificant, our father in heaven delights in answering our prayers! He hears us when we pray and he is mighty to answer us. He is able. What are you waiting for? What is it that your heart desires? What is it that you can bring to God and leave in his mighty hands? He’s waiting.

Lord, we surrender all to you: our anxieties, our goals, our deep desires of the heart, our children, our marriages, our families. For you are strong and mighty to save. You hold the heavens and the earth and you hold us. Thank you, precious Father, you are good. All the time.
